Equipment Identity Registration System (EIRS)
- Ministry of Post and Telecommunications plans to roll out an Equipment Identity Registration System (EIRS) — a database of IMEIs, the 15-digit numbers that uniquely identify each SIM-based device. When EIRS system is implemented, it will discourage the use of counterfeit SIM-based devices and will discourage the theft of SIM-based devices, especially mobile phones across the country.
- EIRS system is established under the Sub-Decree No. 41 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, and the program is established under the international best practices recommended by ITU and GSMA.
